#cd240 - Nigel doesn't need any mates

I had been told going to the movies on your own can be quite liberating, and after finally doing so I would have to concur.

I must admit I did feel a little bit nervous as I purchased my ticket. I had this urge to explain to the lady why I was buying a ticket on my own but I stopped myself before I could. After all, I had to own this awkwardness and embrace this new experience. To be fair, once I got past the initial nerves I felt quite empowered and proud of myself.

I’ve always admired people who could go to the movies on their own and now I can say I’m a member of that pack. In fact, there was another person going solo. I wonder if he was ticking off his own list…maybe not, he looked pretty young so he was probably wagging school haha. (Ok so I don’t condone wagging school. Stay at school kids!)

So would I do it again? Yeah, I think I would.

I’ve often either had to wait for a movie to come out on DVD or missed them altogether because I couldn’t convince my side kick, aka husband, to watch what he might consider a ‘chick flick’. Next time I want to watch a ‘chick flick’, I’ll definitely put my big girl pants on and fly solo. It’s not nearly as bad as I made it out to be in my head.

Have a go, if you haven’t already. You seriously get over the thought of being a nigel no mates pretty quickly. Besides, no-one is actually watching you, they’re there to watch a movie after all.

#cd240 - Go to a movie on my own…Done!
