I'm the first to admit that I wasn't a star pupil at primary, intermediate or even high school. While I stayed in school through to 7th form, or Year 13 as they call it now, I just couldn't quite get into the whole idea of sitting in a room for hours on end listening to a teacher at the front of the room.

It wasn't the teachers fault, I've had some brilliant ones along the way, the environment just didn't meet my style of learning. Ironic that I find myself consulting as a HR/L&D practitioner as an adult.

It's never too late learn something new. In fact, even if you think you've got it, keep refining. It doesn't even have to cost anything. There are tons of online resources available such as Lynda.com, Khan Academy and TED Talks, just to name a few.
